When it feels like children and their families are left with nowhere else to turn, we stand in the gap providing the critical help and hope they thought was out of reach.
We have given OVER $2 BILLION in Grants Globally
For over 50 years, the incredible generosity of the Variety community has helped thousands of Australian children in need. Together, we’ve built a place families can turn to when times are tough — a place that brings hope, support, and the chance for every child to thrive.
Thanks to our supporters, kids can move, learn, communicate, and take part in everyday life with confidence and independence. We work hand in hand with donors, partners, sponsors, and volunteers to make sure help reaches the families who need it most.

Backpacks 4 SA Kids
10,000 backpacks for 10,000 kids! These backpacks support children aged 0–18 who are displaced from home, providing essential clothing, toiletries and comfort items to ease stress and anxiety during traumatic situations.

Creative Arts Program
Since launching in 2019 the Variety Tasmania Creative Arts Program has grown to be offered in 10 schools across the state and in 2024 our therapists delivered 3600 therapy sessions to kids with adverse life experiences.

EduKids Program
This program helps remove barriers to learning, giving every child the chance to participate equally. It provides schools with targeted funding for what’s needed most — from classroom tools and assistive technology to essential uniforms and shoes.

Assistance dog for Jake
Jake’s assistance dog, Echo, has been truly life-changing. For a child facing sensory, mobility and communication challenges, everyday moments were overwhelming. But with Echo by his side, Jake is now exploring his community, engaging in therapy and connecting in new ways, giving him confidence, independence and opportunities his family once only hoped for.

Motor Mouth Camp
This is a life-changing program for children with complex communication needs who rely on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices to express themselves. The camp provides families with access to specialist therapists, speech pathologists, and educators who help children learn how to use their devices effectively - giving them, quite literally, a voice.

Dolly’s Dream
Targeting rural, regional and remote communities in South Australia, these anti-bullying workshops support children who face higher risks and limited access to resources. Across 77 workshops, 2,390 kids are positively impacted, gaining awareness, resilience and tools to build safe, inclusive environments.
