VICTORIA
SWEP might assist in funding the purchase of human hair wigs.
NEW SOUTH WALES
Approved applicants with alopecia can receive subsidies for human hair or synthetic wigs through Enable NSW. Supporting evidence, including a doctor’s letter, is required. The process typically takes around 3-6 months.
ACT
ACT Equipment Scheme (ACTES) provides wigs to eligible people in the ACT with a life-long- or long-term disability. You can apply to be part of this scheme by asking your primary health therapist, your GP or specialist to complete the ACTES application form. Your health care provider should have a copy of the form.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
The Department for Families and Communities (DFC) equipment program provides wigs or contributes to eligible applicants’ purchases.
TASMANIA
Financial aid might be accessible for individuals with alopecia holding a doctor’s referral and a DHA Pensioner or healthcare card.
