More than 2,500 children and their carers came together at the Adelaide Zoo last week for the annual Variety Kids’ Picnic.

The two-day event gave children who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with disability the chance to experience a day of fun and inclusion in the community.

The zoo was buzzing with excitement as kids explored the exhibits, met animal keepers, joined interactive games, watched a lively puppet show and enjoyed a delicious sausage sizzle by Rotary and snacks thanks to Woolworths.

For many children, days like this are rare. The Variety Kids’ Picnic creates a safe, inclusive space where they can simply enjoy being kids.

This special event wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support from our partners and supporters, including Adelaide Zoo, Woolworths, Rotary Club of Unley, Rotary Club of Campbelltown, Police Credit Union, Kytons Bakery, Menz Fruchocs, Port Adelaide Football Club, Cochrane’s Transport, BTR Excavations and Botanic Park.

Thanks to them and to our wonderful Variety community – two magical days became lasting memories for South Australian kids and their families.
