It is truly a new era for Variety – the Children’s Charity, which this week announced a new brand ambassador.
Variety Chief Executive Officer, Chris Chatterton warmly welcomed WA athlete, Rhiannon Clarke to the charity: “We are so excited to have such an incredible young person to support the charity’s work helping children.
“Rhiannon Clarke is an incredible example of a successful Paralympian who is also a dedicated advocate for athletes with disability.
“As a previous grant recipient Rhiannon is an outstanding ambassador who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children experiencing hardship or living with disability.
“She was an ambassador for HBF run for a reason in May, raising funds for Variety, and is an amazing role model for the children and families that we support.” He said.
Rhiannon represented Australia in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and won a bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and a silver medal at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships. She is training hard for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris, France:
“I am super excited to be a Variety Ambassador! I have been involved with the charity for many years so it’s a cause that I’m really passionate about.
“I performed with the Variety youth choir for ten years and then in 2020, I received a Variety Heart Scholarship. The scholarship grant helped cover the cost of my training and equipment and assisted me in achieving my goal of competing in the Paralympics in 2021.
“I’m so grateful for all the support Variety has given me over the years, and I’m looking forward to supporting Variety in the future.” She said.
Variety Ambassadors have the option to work with the charity and support the cause in a number of ways including campaigns and advocacy, fundraising events, community engagement and collaborative projects.
