Today the Chief Executive Officer of Variety – the Children’s Charity of Western Australia, Chris Chatterton, was delighted to announce two prestigious new Patrons for the long-standing charity:
“Today is a monumental day for Variety WA; I am delighted and honoured to announced that His Excellency The Honourable Christopher Dawson AC APM, the 34th Governor of Western Australia, together with his wife, Mrs Darrilyn Dawson, have graciously confirmed their Patronage of Variety WA.
“His Excellency, the Governor of Western Australia and his wife’s generous support adds immense significance to our cause and this is particularly important timing for the charity with the WA Tent marking its 45th year in WA and Variety Australia celebrating 50 years of operation across the country in April.
“Being supported by patrons with the credentials, experience and connections of the Dawsons will help to forge beneficial partnerships for the charity and elevate the cause of children living with disability, chronic illness or experiencing disadvantage.” He said.
The Patronage of the Governor and his wife is a welcome first for the charity. During it’s long history in the state, Variety WA has been supported by eminent philanthropists, business leaders and celebrities. Variety Australia was delighted last year when His Majesty, King Charles III reconfirmed his Patronage, a role he has enjoyed for many decades.
Working with the Governor and Mrs Dawson to continue to positively impact the lives of children across Western Australia is a very exciting prospect.
