The annual Variety 4WD Adventure is now open for registrations! Dubbed an adventure with purpose, the eight-day off road escapade is a fundraising event for four-wheel driving enthusiasts with a social conscience.
The 2025, event is set to take place from 24 May–1 June and will take participants on a guided tour of some exclusive, private off-road tracks around Dirk Hartog Island, Useless Loop, Shark Bay, Kalbarri and the Gascoyne regions.
The event will utilise a convenient overnight “hub” system, allowing adventurers to explore challenging tracks during the day before returning to a familiar base camp to enjoy their own camper trailer, caravan or tent each night.
Variety WA Chief Executive Officer, Chris Chatterton said the event is now open to give participants enough time to organise their fundraising: “Our long-running 4WD event appeals to all levels of drivers because it offers both challenge and support if things get tough.
“We bring along a full support crew including experienced off-road drivers, medics, mechanics, famous Perth entertainers and private chefs, to make it that bit special.
“Whether people prefer a four-day trek or the whole eight days, there will be hill climbs, rock climbs, mud pits as well as beach driving and river crossings.
“We are very excited to bring the 2025 event to the WA 4WD community. Last year our 4WD Adventure to the South West raised more than $177,000 for kids in need and we have been able to grant even more support right across the state this year thanks to our incredible fundraisers and supporters.
“The 4WD Adventure 2025, officially launched on 20 October giving participants plenty of time to plan their fundraising activities. We would love to be able to help even more children in 2025.” He said.
To participate in the Variety WA 4WD Adventure, new participants can make a $4000 fundraising donation or $6000 for returning drivers. Entry fees are $330 per vehicle and a $1200-$1800 Provisions Levy will be confirmed before the event (dependent on costings and locations). The Provisions Levy includes meals, support, entertainment, venue costs and merchandise. Accommodation (if desired), fuel and vehicle costs are at participants own expense.
