Granting a Disability Stroller to Amaleah and Iliyas
Siblings, 6 year old Amaleah and 5-year-old Iliyas live with their parents. Both children have Level 3-Non Verbal Autism and to help with their mobility, Variety has granted them a tandem disability stroller. Read more about their story here.
Variety Raises Record-breaking $415,000 at Toyota AFL Grand Final Lunch
The annual Variety Toyota AFL Grand Final Lunch has achieved an unprecedented milestone, raising a staggering $415,000 in funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity Victoria. This significant accomplishment has not only surpassed the fundraising target set to procure two Variety Sunshine Coaches, but also promises to bolster the support extended through our grants program in Victoria over the forthcoming year.
Variety Toyota AFL Grand Final Lunch Award Winners Announced
In a glittering ceremony held at the Variety Toyota AFL Grand Final Lunch on September 27, 2023, two outstanding individuals were recognised and celebrated. Kate Darby, from the Geelong Football Club, was awarded the prestigious 2023 Tom Hafey Heart of Football Award, while Charlee Lang, a 15-year-old gymnast, received the 2023 Variety Young Sports Achiever award.

Variety – the Children’s Charity is gearing up to deliver an inspiring moment of inclusion and empowerment as it presents a Variety Sunshine Coach to Skene Street Specialist School in Stawell.
Variety Bikes for Kids Brings Smiles to Rochester Students with Bike Grant
Rochester Secondary College and Rochester Primary School were severely impacted by the floods late last year, leaving the entire school flooded and many families displaced from their homes. Due to the buildings being inundated, portables have been set up on the soccer pitch as temporary classrooms for the entire school. The new bikes being granted to the school will be used for the schools’ bike education program.
Eat Street – Variety of Chefs 2023
Eat Street is coming back in 2023! Hosted by MasterChef’s Sarah Todd, this year’s event will feature a 5-course extravaganza of mouth-watering dishes from three of Melbourne’s most renowned chefs – Scott Pickett, Adam D’Sylva and Shane Delia – curated in partnership with Executive Chef, John Savage who is celebrating 20 years at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins.

Christmas Comes Early for over 4,000 Victorian Kids in Need
On Wednesday 14 December 2022, the annual Variety Kids Xmas Party returned to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre! For over 30 years, the Variety Kids Xmas Party has been the most exciting day of the year for kids facing challenges with disadvantage, illness or living with a disability.

A Zoo-per Day Out for Kids

Devin’s Assistance Dog was funded this year with thanks to the fundraising from our Variety Petember family. For the first time last year, Variety Petember dressed up dogs were joined by gamers from the Super Animal Royale player community who live streamed and fundraised throughout September.

Archer has a new best friend
To help Archer reach his full potential, Variety funded an Assistance Dog who we know will soon become Archer’s best friend. For Archer, an assistance dog will help him regulate his emotions both at school and at home, offer the chance to interact more with his peers and attend play dates and social gatherings.
