Variety and Stockland have a long friendship and partnership, initially through the Touched by Olivia Foundation and more recently directly with Variety – the Children’s Charity.
Stockland has embraced inclusive play as an essential component to all communities for many years. We consult and collaborate with Stockland on the creation of Variety Liviv’s Place inclusive playspaces nationally throughout all facets of the Stockland business, including residential communities, retail town centres, apartments and retirement living.
We are thrilled with Stockland’s decision to mandate an inclusive playspace in every Stockland residential development over 1000 lots, deemed inclusive by Variety. This is such a big step forward for inclusion! We have recently opened several new Variety Livvi’s Place inclusive playspaces in Stockland retail town centres, proving that inclusive play is possible on a smaller scale indoors. We congratulate Stockland on leading the way in inclusive play in the property industry and we love collaborating with them.
Variety Livvi's Place Minta (residential)
Once upon a time in the Melbourne suburb of Berwick, a magical playground and fantasy themed park took its first steps to becoming a reality at Variety Livvi’s Place Minta.
Located at the highest point of the new 116 hectare community, this unique inclusive playspace has commenced its first stage of construction and is expected to officially open late 2021.
The major $3.5 million playspace design underwent extensive community consultation with existing and future residents including a vote which revealed the theme of ‘Fantasy’ as the most popular.
Designed to bring many favourite childhood fairy tales to life, the playspace will include a castle with an Excalibur sword set in stone, Sherwood Forest complete with teepees, and a life-size steel ‘climbing’ horse. The castle also includes multiple slides, inclusive access walkways, rockers and sand play.
Variety Livvi's Place Edgebrook (residential)
Variety Livvi’s Place at Edgebrook is a finalist in the 2021 Park & Leisure Australia’s National Awards of Excellence in the ‘Park of the Year’ category!
Variety Livvi’s Place at Edgebrook showcases an innovative model of designing with empathy and story through play for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It features sensory-rich play installations, designed with allied health professionals and behavioural therapists. It interprets ASD behaviour and therapies, supporting children through selective, abstract, non-competitive play.
Variety Livvi’s Place Edgebrook is in the south east of Melbourne and is now open and ready for play. The official opening took place in December 2020. The playspace is uniquely inclusive, with a focus on Autism Spectrum disorder.

Aquatic Zone
- A water wheel which when turned releases water down a narrow passageway that flows through the Aquatic Zone
- A frog sculpture that sprouts water when the water wheel is turned
- Pods amongst the reeds where kids can relax and take some timeout
Birds in Flight Zone
- Sound chimes that echo the calls of Clyde’s wetland birds
- Climbing tunnel leading to a fort structure
- Inclusive swings and a 4-point harness flying fox
Lettuce Farm Zone
- Lettuce-themed spinning cups with wheelchair accessibility
- Tunnel and play mounds
Amphibian Zone
- Nature play path with sand play
- In-ground trampolines so you can bounce just like the Grass Frog
- Slides galore! We’ll have a toddler slide, an adventure slide for older kids, plus an inclusive slide so everyone can join in the fun!

Variety LIvvi's Place Willowdale (residential)
Variety Livvi’s Place Willowdale is located in Campbelltown NSW and has been designed closely reflecting the Everyone Can Play NSW Guidlelines, in conjunction with Stockland, the Touched by Olivia Foundation and now Variety to ensure best practice in providing fun, inclusive and memorable play experiences for everyone.
Variety Livvi’s Place Willowdale is currently in construction and will open in 2021 and include four distinct zones: the Spinning + Swinging Zone, Mounds + Tunnels, The Hill, and The Lawn. Each of these zones offers different play opportunities and is connected by a central pathway.
Variety Livvi's Place Cairns (Retail Town Centre)
Who says you can’t have fun shopping! Stockland Cairns (QLD) Retail Town Centre has created an inclusive playspace with the theme ‘Tropics of the Imagination.’ Featuring a giant inclusive dugong, stingray and loads of other play experiences, the space has a focus on passive, active, climbing, vestibular, social, solitary and fun for everyone PLAY!
Playspace is open and ready for play.

Variety Livvi's Place Merrylands (Retail Town Centre)
The kids of Merrylands can experience a fun, interactive and inclusive playspace at Stockland Merrylands Retail Town Centre. The theme of the playspace is ‘Global Village,’ representing the beautiful melting pot of cultures and traditions that encapsulates the local community.
Some features are a wide directional pathway through the space for easy access, imaginative, sensory and accessible play options for all children, a wide slide for easy access and fun fencing around the playspace to ensure the safety.
The playspace was open to the community in December 2020.
Variety Livvi's Place Shellharbour (Retail Town Centre)
Ahoy there me hearties, Stockland Shellharbour Retail Town Centre Inclusive Play Ship is here! Featuring slides, tunnels, musical play, climbing and loads of inclusive play experiences for everyone, this BIG ship fits right into the coastal community of Shellharbour.
Playspace opened in December 2020 and is ready for play.
