Variety Tasmania helps children and their families with financial support to purchase essential items and equipment that are not funded by other community, government or charity organisations.
Assistance is available for Tassie children up to 18 years of age, who are sick, disadvantaged or have additional needs.
Organisations
Variety Tasmania gives grants to organisations that support Tassie kids in need, including schools, not-for-profit and community groups. These grants can be for items such as medical equipment or interactive playground equipment. Variety Tas also offers a Bikes for Kids Program to assist organisations purchase bikes for children who are sick, disadvantaged or have additional needs.
The Variety Freya Fund provides a one-off emergency relief payment for Tasmanian families who care for a child with additional needs or a severe disability:

Mobility / Postural Aids, Medical Equipment, Communication Aids, Calming and Sensory Products and Assistive Technology
Children with a long term medical condition (like cancer or Alopecia) who have lost their hair, can apply for a grant for a wig:
To organisations that support kids in need, including schools, not-for-profits and community groups we grant items such as Educational Resources, Interactive Playground Equipment, Mobility Equipment, Technology and Bikes 4 Kids
The Variety Creative Arts Program are small-group workshops run by a qualified Arts Therapist.
