Professor Jennifer McKay AM is Professor of Business Law at the University of South Australia – Justice and Society and was awarded an AM in the King’s birthday honours list on 12 June 2023 for services to the law and legal profession. She has conducted research and taught at Melbourne, Adelaide, James Cook Universities, and the University of South Australia and has an adjunct appointments as Professor of Law at ANU (College of Law) and the University of Fiji. She worked as a legal practitioner and held, for over 25 years, a part time appointment as a Commissioner of the Environment Resources and Development court in SA. Professor McKay has researched on laws in the US, India, Fiji and Vietnam and taken a human rights-based approach.
A lover of trees, animals and enjoys the outback plus meeting community members engaged in actions to improve our common future. Has two adult children, five dogs, completed the Heysen trail in 2018, renovated an old home and enjoyed nine Variety motoring events to every part of SA and parts of other States across the country.
