Variety Featured Grant – Abby
Abby is a cheeky and smiley three-year-old with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy spastic diplegia with dysphasia, which affects her balance, strength and stamina. She suffers frequent falls, reduced mobility and fatigue. Variety funded Abby to undergo Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy Surgery (SDR) at St Louis Children’s Hospital in the USA. This life changing surgery has permanently removed her spasticity, improved her mobility and enabled her to walk independently.
