Variety Kids' Experiences
Variety Kids’ Experiences provide children facing disability, disadvantage, or hardship with the chance to enjoy activities and events they might not otherwise have access to. These experiences are organised by the dedicated Variety in Action committee, a volunteer group that generously donates their time, expertise, and passion to bring joy to South Australian children in need.
Variety Kids’ Zoo Picnic
A fun-filled day at the Adelaide Zoo, where kids can explore, meet animals, and enjoy a unique adventure they’ll never forget.
Variety Kids’ Christmas Party
Each year, the Adelaide Showgrounds comes alive with the sound of laughter and festive cheer as primary school students come together for a day of fun. With activities like face painting, balloon artists, and interactive games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. And, of course, Santa makes a special appearance to spread holiday magic!
The Variety in Action Committee also plan a Christmas Party in Port Lincoln, providing kids from the Eyre Peninsula with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the holiday season.
Variety Kids’ Movie Days
An exciting trip to the movies, offering kids a chance to relax, laugh, and experience the magic of the big screen.
Variety Kids’ Disco
Designed for secondary students, the Variety Kids’ Disco is a fun-filled celebration giving kids the chance to hit the dancefloor and enjoy a day they won’t forget!
About the Variety in Action Committee
The Variety in Action Committee organises events and activities for children aged 5–18 years across South Australia, with funding from Variety – the Children’s Charity. This passionate group of volunteers dedicates their time, expertise, and care to bringing smiles to the faces of children in need.
Each year, Variety enriches the lives of thousands of children who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with disability through engaging, entertaining, and educational experiences. Variety Kids’ Experiences provide opportunities for children to participate in activities and events they might otherwise miss out on due to disability or financial hardship.
Register to Perform at Variety Kids’ Experiences
Are you a talented entertainer or performer looking to bring joy to children?
The Variety in Action Committee is seeking expressions of interest from bands, face painters, musical acts (including DJs), temporary tattoo artists, balloon artists, bubble performers, children’s characters, puppet shows, mimes, and other kids’ entertainers.
Volunteer to Assist – Individuals
If you would like to Volunteer to assist with Variety SA Kids’ Experiences please Register as a volunteer here. As this role involves working with children, all volunteers are required to provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
If you don’t have a WWCC, you can apply through the Department of Human Services website. Their FAQ page may also provide helpful information. Note: If you indicate your role is a volunteer position, there will be no charge for the check.
Once your WWCC is confirmed, please email your reference number and expiry date to [email protected].

As more companies and organisations focus on corporate social responsibility, we’ve seen an increase in requests for staff volunteering opportunities. To support this, we’ve developed a structured approach to ensure a meaningful experience for corporate volunteers.
