Create a Facebook Fundraiser
If you have a celebration coming up, like your birthday, an anniversary or graduation, you might like to create a Facebook Fundraiser in support of Variety and ask your friends and family to donate instead of giving you gifts.
It’s easy and a great way to make a difference to the lives of kids in need.
Plan a fundraising event or activity
Are you tired of sitting at a computer or looking at a screen and miss human interaction? Why not plan a fundraising event and catch up with your friends in the flesh? Base the type of event or activity on your friends interests, for example plan a themed trivia night, wine and cheese tasting session, or a high tea.
Start an online fundraising page
If you are time poor or lack the event planning bug, you can still make a big impact on kids’ lives by creating and personalising an online fundraising page or creating a Facebook Fundraiser.
Instead of just creating an online fundraising page, why not set yourself a challenge and explain what you’re doing and why. For example, wear something eye-catching for a week if you reach your fundraising goal – this will be a challenge especially if you have classes or work meetings but it’s a great conversation starter and will create lots of awareness of what you’re doing to help Aussie kids. It can be something that gains compliments or an item that is embarrassing – you decide!
Perhaps you could give up sugar or social media for a month and your friends and family can show their support by making a donation. Into fitness? Challenge yourself to plank for a minute every hour for a week. The possibilities are endless, think outside the box!
We’re here to help you reach your fundraising goals!
Whether you need a little more inspiration for a fundraising activity, you aren’t quite sure about something, you’d like further details on our work, or want to share your fundraising story – we’d love to hear from you!
