With family 4 hours away in Taree young Joshua, aged 9, and his mum Suzie are making a life in Maroubra.
While Joshua already had a wheelchair, he desperately needed a walker so that he could learn to walk on his own. Unable to secure funding from other avenues, Variety was suggested to Suzie as an option and we were thrilled to be able to assist.
“He’s got the strength and he rules the world in the walker.”
“Joshua still uses the walker and zooms in it when he wants too. As a result of his neurological issues he has to be shown how to do something he doesn’t learn as other children do. Variety helped give my son some confidence, a little independence, and motor skill learning potential.”
Not only did Variety provide Joshua with a walker, the family also received funding to help cover PEG feeds, which can quickly become very expensive.
