More than 200 Sydneysiders from 23 teams spun their way to fun, fitness & a fundraising total of more than $50,000 in the 4th annual Variety Spin 4 Kids Sydney event at Barangaroo today.
The five-hour spin bike challenge raised $58,006 for children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.
Variety NSW/ACT CEO Tony Warner said the vital funds will help Variety deliver grants, scholarships and programs to kids and families in need.
“Last year, Variety provided more than 340 grants and impacted more than 27,000 children across NSW and the ACT. These outcomes can be life changing for families who are doing it tough, particularly with the rising cost of living,” he said.
“We are thankful to all of those Sydney residents and the Sydney business community who came together to get in their lycra and ontheir bike today.”
“We had participants of all ages – some as young as 20 and some a spritely 67 – but all united in their commitment to keeping the wheels spinning for those kids who need it most,” he said.
The heart thumping, music pumping day finished with award announcements including Highest Fundraising Team: Shore Hire for raising $12,981.
It’s not too late to donate.
