New Grant Launching in March
We’re also thrilled to introduce our newest initiative: the Variety Boost Grant. This program offers one-time financial support to young people in Out of Home Care (OOHC), helping them access the resources they need to achieve their goals. Applications will open on 10 March — so stay tuned!
Variety Heart Scholarships are Back in May
We’re excitedly preparing for the Variety Heart Scholarship program, which launches in May. This scholarship is designed to support talented young people in our community, regardless of circumstance, to help them pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. If you know a rising star or work with young people, make sure to let them know that applications open on 1 May. We host a presentation evening for recipients later in the year, which is always a highlight, and we can’t wait to share more inspiring stories with you.
Looking Back at Last Year’s Achievements
2024 was a huge year for the Kids Support team, and we are beyond proud to share the impact we’ve had across NSW and the ACT.
Here are some highlights:
- We reached over 40,000 school students through our Just Like You program, fostering acceptance and inclusion.
- We flew paediatricians and therapists to remote towns in far west NSW as part of our Flying Start program
- We helped families without NDIS access receive crucial therapy services,
- We funded grants to purchase equipment that helps create inclusive environments for children in schools and communities.
- We supported young people in Out of Home Care (OOHC) with multi-year funding, providing them with security thrive academically, in the workplace, and during their transition to independent living.
- And, of course, we wrapped up the year with two super fun Christmas parties, spreading joy and creating lasting memories for kids during the holidays.
