COVID-19 Statement from Variety

March 17, 2020 by nswadmin

During this time of community concern, we would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring protocols and updates from the Federal and State Government regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Our thoughts go out to all those who have been directly impacted by this crisis.

The Variety staff and Board are meeting to address the organisation’s COVID–19 Response Plan and any updates as a result of those discussions will be provided in the coming days.

For the latest advice from the Australian Government, please visit the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health alert on the Department of Health’s website.

Based on the current advice, some of our events and programs planned for the coming weeks have been postponed. This includes the Variety Easter Family Fun Day (part of the Sydney Family Show), the Variety Spin 4 Kids event in Newcastle and the Variety Activate Inclusion Sports Days for NSW Schools Term 1. All future Variety programs and events will be assessed on an individual basis, taking into account the situation at the time and the latest advice from the Australian Government Department of Health.

The disruptions to daily life as a result of COVID-19 creates unique challenges for those caring for children. We have compiled a list of Family Resources which we will continue to update over the coming weeks.

We thank you for your patience during these challenging times and assure you of our continued focus on improving the lives of children in need.

Now more than ever, the kindness and generosity of the Variety family will be important to support our community during this time.

CEO, Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT
