Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Warner as the new CEO.
Variety NSW/ACT is committed to creating a future where every child regardless of circumstance or ability, can be supported, included and equal.
In 2021/22, Variety NSW/ACT provided more than 12,000 grants valued at $2.84 million to children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.
Tony Warner comes to Variety NSW/ACT with international management experience across the disability, mobility equipment, refugee, therapy and youth at risk sectors with the common motivation of improving outcomes for marginalised populations.
Most recently, Tony spent more than five years as the CEO of The Humour Foundation, a national not-for-profit organisation working to reframe healthcare for children through the Clown Doctors program.
As a motorbike and four-wheel drive enthusiast, Tony is thrilled to get behind the Variety NSW/ACT wheel.
“I am excited to join an organisation that identifies the unmet needs of children and serves to address them, improving equity regardless of whether a child lives in Balmain or Broken Hill,” said Tony.
“As a father to two young girls, every day I am reminded of the importance of investing in future generations.”
Tony’s appointment is effective immediately. He takes the helm from Variety’s Acting CEO, David Small, who resumes his role as Executive Director of Variety Australia.
Tony commences with Variety NSW/ ACT ahead of the Variety Heart Scholarships award evening on 14 September where 63 children will be granted $294,000 in scholarships for sport and the arts.
