In this momentous 40th year, Variety’s B to B Bash isn’t just an event – it’s a legendary outback odyssey! This August, more than 300 B to B Bashers will celebrate 40 years by following the tracks of the trailblazing 1985 original Bash convoy – travelling from Dubbo to Mudgee.
It promises to be 12 days and 6,000kms of thrilling bush driving, scenic vistas and heartfelt philanthropy – aiming to raise $1.5 million to support children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.
The Bash is a kaleidoscope of classic cars, old friends and new mates. Imagine a vibrant parade of colourful decorations and wacky themes rolling through the heart of Australia – that’s the Bash spirit and everyone is welcome to join the fun.
The Variety B to B Bash is about more than just the adventure. As the Bash teams traverse the outback, they’ll be making a real difference. The Bash convoy brings vital support to remote communities, delivering more than $100,000 in grants to schools for everything from playground equipment to laptops and library resources.
In tiny towns with populations under 100, the Bash arrival is a major event, bringing smiles to the faces of local kids and fostering a sense of connection.
Variety NSW/ACT CEO, Tony Warner, said the B-to-B Bash is more than just a charity drive.
“It’s become an Australian tradition, uniting people for a cause that truly matters,” said Tony.
“This 40th anniversary is a chance to reflect on the incredible legacy of the Variety B to B Bash. From the joy on children’s faces to the tangible support we provide, the Bash embodies the spirit of Variety. We’re so grateful to everyone who’s been part of this journey, and we can’t wait to keep making a difference together.”
The Bash festivities will begin with a Variety Family Fun Day in Victoria Park, Dubbo on Saturday 10 August from 12 – 3pm. This inclusive event will celebrate the start of the Bash with live music, roving characters and Bash cars. Families can also purchase a $5 wristband to enjoy face painting, amusement rides and activities.
Buckle up adventurers and enthusiasts because this epic journey promises to be one for the history books. Australians are encouraged to join Variety as they celebrate four decades of adventure, community spirit and supporting kids in need.
